First of all the Costa Rican people are some of the nicest people you will meet! They are crazy drivers but that's the only time. Also, when traveling to Costa Rica get a good map. GPS isn't that helpful or up to date. There are very few road signs. Just follow the map to the next town instead of trying to map out the whole trip.
Lars was really great! He called and checked on us. After spending 3 nights in the jungle we (2 couples) were ready for the beach and a nice clean condo. This condo did not disappoint. Lost Beach managers were really great at checking us in, giving us a tour of the condo and explaining things, and giving us recommendations for activities and restaurants. Our favorite was the Backyard Grill in Playa Hermosa (only about 5 kil away).
The condo is so beautiful and clean with all the white granite tile. The kitchen is equipped so well with beautiful appliances. There were plenty of pots & pans, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, etc. They also had a lot of spices. It was so easy to cook there. We got the ground floor condo because we wanted to be near the pool. It was great to walk right out to the pool and beach. There is 24/7 security so you always felt safe.
Be aware there are many iguanas that hang out by the pool. You get use to them and I grew to like them. They leave you alone unless you take your lunch out there. Just don't touch them because they may bite. They might startle you but they are not a big deal and will give you something to talk about. Keep in mind that Jaco rest. & food are not cheap. Cheaper to get out of town a bit. Also buy alcohol in the airport duty free shop, expensive everywhere else.
Make sure to drive to Manual Antonio National park. You will see a lot of monkeys & other wildlife. Just do your homework. There will be guys trying to get you to park way before the park. Just take the last left before the roundabout and drive to the parking closest to the entry. Guides are aggressive but you really don't need them to see things. We saw everything they did. Once in awhile we'd just stop where they were and look up and there were the sloths, monkey's etc. Also walk past the first beach stop. Most of the capuchin monkeys were further down the path from where guides took people.
I would really recommend anyone to stay in Lars' condo. You won't regret it.
